Target Audience
This activity is intended for primary care physicians, specialty physicians (Internal Medicine, Ob/Gyn), Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Care Coordinators, Advanced Clinical Practitioners, and Care Managers.
Statement of Need
Decreased provider and care team knowledge on the importance of hepatitis B birth-dose vaccination, and testing/vaccinating pregnant women. Decreased administration of birth-dose vaccinations due to vaccine hesitancy.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:
1. Define pediatric dosing and scheduling of hepatitis B vaccination.2. Emphasize the importance of delivering a birth dose.
3. Review hepatitis B testing and vaccination procedures for all pregnant women, and children.
4. Discuss vaccine hesitancy and tools for addressing hesitancy with patients within your practice.
