Target Audience

This activity is intended for pediatricians, family physicians, and other physicians, advanced clinical practitioners, physician assistants, and nurses.
 

Statement of Need

There is a need to equip primary care clinicians with the knowledge and strategies to protect pediatric populations from vaccine-preventable diseases and improve health outcomes.


Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss the latest data on vaccine efficacy, safety and public health impact.
  2. Recognize the common barriers to vaccine acceptance including misinformation and vaccine hesitancy.
  3. Discuss the critical role of vaccine advocacy in safeguarding public health, combating vaccine-preventable diseases and addressing health disparities.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Medical Society of Delaware and the DE Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics. The Medical Society of Delaware is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
