Target Audience

This activity is intended for pediatricians, family physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, physician assistants, nurses, early learning center providers, and community health professionals.


Statement of Need

To expand knowledge of social factors impacting child health and child mental/behavioral health needs.


Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Recognize social factors that impact child health.
  2. Discuss ways to address social factors to promote healthcare equity and improve health outcomes in children.
  3. Recognize issues impacting child mental and behavioral health.
  4. Discuss child mental and behavioral health needs and ways to better address these needs.

  • All in-person attendees are strongly encouraged to wear a mask at all times except when eating or drinking.

 

Waiver and Release

By participating in this Delaware Chapter, American Academy of Pediatrics educational meeting, you understand that travel and gathering involves risk of sickness, including sickness from COVID-19. You waive and release the DEAAP and its employees, agents, exhibitors, and others involved in the planning and delivery of this educational meeting from and against claims, liabilities and expenses arising from injury, sickness or death from contraction or spread of COVID-19 or other communicable disease due to travel to or attendance at an event sponsored by the DEAAP. While at the education meeting and in the function space, you agree to comply with any government, health authority, venue, and/or DEAAP safety and health requirements and protocols throughout the duration of the meeting. Protocols may include, but are not limited to, wearing a face covering at all times unless presenting or during meal/snack break (while actively eating or drinking), keeping six (6) feet physicial distance from other attendees, frequent hand sanitization, and self-monitoring and self-reporting symptoms.
