Target Audience

This activity is intended for Orthopaedic Surgeons, Primary Care Physicians, Sports Medicine Physicians, Specialty Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Physical Therapists, Athletic Trainers, and practitioners from Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Orthopaedics, Physical Therapy, and Sports Medicine.

Statement of Need

Education on the latest advancements in musculoskeletal health and orthopaedic surgery and management of common orthopaedic conditions in the primary care and physical therapy setting. 

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Recognize current research and clinical advances in orthopaedic surgery.
  2. Describe quality of care measures for patients with musculoskeletal conditions.
  3. Discuss evaluation and management protocols for common musculoskeletal conditions.
  4. Illustrate evidence-based, best practice approaches for diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal joint pain.
  5. Discuss physical therapy protocols and treatment options and differential diagnosis for common musculoskeletal conditions.
  6. Recognize evidence-based treatments that improve outcomes and promote safety in physical therapy patients.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Medical Society of Delaware and the Delaware Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Christiana Care Health System, Division of Orthopaedic Surgery. The Medical Society of Delaware is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
