Target Audience

This activity is intended for Primary Care Physicians, Research Physicians, and all Specialty Physicians providing care for adult patients.

Statement of Need

Busy practitioners cannot always keep up with the literature related to advances in evidence-based guidelines. The ABIM has created significant flux in the maintenance of certification requirements.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

1. Learners will become familiar with recently updated evidence-based clinical guidelines, and apply them in daily practice. 
2. Learners will become aware of the updated maintenance of certification requirements of the American Board of Internal Medicine [ABIM]. 

Accreditation Statement

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the Medical Society of Delaware and Christiana Care Health System. The Medical Society of Delaware is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

It is the policy of the Medical Society of Delaware to comply with the ACCME Standards for Commercial Support of Continuing Medical Education. In keeping with these standards, all faculty participating in continuing medical education provided by MSD are expected to disclose to the activity audience any real or apparent conflicts of interest related to the content of their presentations.

Credit Designation Statement

The Medical Society of Delaware designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ (per session). Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Successful completion of this CME activity session enables the participant to earn up to 1 MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.  Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.  It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points. 

Upon successful completion of this course, the Medical Society of Delaware (MSD) will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points.
