Overview

This symposium is designed to provide PCP's and Cardiologists updates in advances in cardiovascular diagnosis and treatment.


Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, residents, fellows, and students.


Statement of Need

Evolving field that many providers are not aware of new therapies. Complex physiological relationship results in significant overlap between pulmonary, renal, and cardiac diseases. New interventions and medications are rapidly developed. 
Patients are frequently referred for preoperative revascularization assessment. 


Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss percutaneous interventions to treat valvular heart disease.
  2. Review physiology of heart/lung disease and heart/kidney disease.
  3. Discuss treatment strategies for multi organ involvement. 
  4. Discuss appropriate therapies for CAD and PAD and review indications for revascularization prior to surgery.

Credit Designation Statement

The Medical Society of Delaware designates this live activity for a maximum of 5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Successful completion of this CME activity session enables the participant to earn up to 5 MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program.  Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity.  It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points. 

Upon successful completion of this course, the Medical Society of Delaware (MSD) will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points.
