Target Audience

This activity is intended for physicians, primary care physicians, specialty physicians, physician assistants, advanced clinical practitioners, nurse practitioners, nurses, and medical students.
 


Statement of Need

There are challenges presented to clinicians when managing Fentanyl intoxication and Xylazine.Management of Fentanyl withdrawal differs from that of Heroin withdrawal in important ways. 


Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Discuss the diagnostic approach to opioid withdrawal.
  2. Describe the treatments available for opioid withdrawal.
  3. Discuss the medication-assisted treatments for opioid use disorder.
