Target Audience
The content will be applicable to the work of providers from multiple health care disciplines; including, Primary Care Clinicians, Geriatricians, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Physicial, Occupational, and Speech Therapists, Social Workers, and Care Partners.
Statement of Need
Many health care providers have limited knowledge of therapeutic options and lack practical experience in managing dementia.This event is designed to increase knowledge of therapeutic options for managing both cognitive and behavioral symptoms of dementia.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:
- Recognize mechanism of action, role in therapy, and risks/ benefits of monoclonal antibody treatment of dementia.
- Review management of noncognitive behavioral symptoms of dementia
- Utilize a clinical case to apply principles of dementia management.
