Overview
The Dr. Margaret Handy Memorial Lectureship is a dynamic event designed to provide insight into cutting edge topics in Neonatal/Perinatal Medicine.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for all specialty physicians, pharmacists, physician assistants, nurses, and nurse practitioners.
Statement of Need
There is a critical need to enhance psychologically safe and effective medical education in neonatology. Educators often lack sufficient understanding of how shame affects learners and how to foster psychological safety. Additionally, improved strategies for interprofessional education and curriculum development tailored to neonatology are necessary to better prepare the next generation of neonatal care providers. This activity aims to address these gaps by equipping educators with knowledge and skills to create supportive, collaborative, and effective learning environments.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:
1. Recognize the impact of shame on learning in medical education2. Describe strategies to promote interprofessional medical education in neonatology
3. Recognize the importance of tailored curriculum development for medical learners
