Target Audience

This activity is intended for pediatricians, family physicians, psychiatrists, psychologists, physician assistants, nurses, early learning center providers, and community health professionals.


Statement of Need

To expand knowledge of transgender/LGBTQ+ health disparities, gun violence/trauma informed care & ways to address these issues.


Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Recognize the various disparities in care for transgender and LGBTQ+youth.
  2. Discuss ways to address disparities and advocate for healthcare equity to improve outcomes for transgender and LGBTQ+ youth.
  3. Recognize the physical, emotional and psychological effects of gun violence/trauma on children.
  4. Discuss ways to address the effects of violence through trauma informed care.
  5. Discuss the root cause of violence and policies to address contributing factors.
