Overview

This year's Swank Symposium, Memory Loss - Not Always Alzheimer's Disease, will provide an opportunity for the Swank Center to share knowledge with a virtual audience regarding diagnosis and referral resources. This event will be virtual via ZOOM Videoconference on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 8:00am to 11:00am.

Target Audience

The content will be applicable to the work of providers from multiple health care disciplines; including, Primary Care Clinicians, Geriatricians, Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses, Physicial, Occupational, and Speech Therapists, Social Workers, and Caregivers.

Statement of Need

Primary care physicians do not have the necessary training or time required to manage the complex needs of a person with neurocognitive disorders. Primary care physicians do not have the necessary training that a social worker in the clinical field would have and therefore education is needed to share what is available in the community.

Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Describe the clinical symptoms of other neurocognitive disorders.
  2. Discuss the various resources available for a population that has neurocognitive disorders.
