Overview
This educational opportunity is designed to provide an update on diabetes and diabetes related co-morbidities, reinforcing the importance of early diagnosis, recent advances in treatment and to meet identified needs of diabetes clinicians in this area.
Target Audience
This activity is intended for all physicians from all specialties, pharmacists,physician assistants, nurses, and nurse practitioners, as well as residents, and medical students. Diabetes affects all providers of medical care. The specific method of employing the information that is learned will be dependent upon each individual's role.
Statement of Need
Neuropathic complications of diabetes are under-recognized and under-treated. There is a need to improve care coordination, better knowledge of the latest options and guidelines, introduce new therapeutic options.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:
- Discuss new technology options for patients with diabetes will be explored.
- Discuss updates on the diagnosis and management of neuropathy caused by diabetes will be included.
- Describe the management of gastroparesis, a very debilitating complication of diabetes, will be a focus.

Credit Designation Statement
The Medical Society of Delaware designates this live activity for a maximum of 5.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Successful completion of this CME activity session enables the participant to earn up to 5.75 MOC point in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC points.
Upon successful completion of this course, the Medical Society of Delaware (MSD) will submit your completion data to ABIM via ACCME’s Program and Activity Reporting System (PARS) for MOC points.
