Target Audience

This activity is intended for Primary Care and Specialty Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurses and NPs in the fields of Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, and OB/GYN, as well as for clinicians who provide maternal care should be aware of issues impacting maternal health and mortality.


Statement of Need

Gaps in health equity and addressing maternal mortality, morbidity and systemic racism within the healthcare system. There is a need to address systemic racism and as well as racial disparities within the healthcare system.


Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:

  1. Recognize gaps in health equity and the impact of systemic racism on maternal health.
  2. Discuss data specific methods that address bias and improve maternal health outcomes.
