Statement of Need
Life has been unstable for many during these trying times. People don't always know who or what they can trust. Do people still trust the science of medicine, their physicians and health care team? Recognize where trust is lacking and learn out to rebuild trust in the science of medicine and society.
Unfamiliarity with pre-attack behaviors and indicators of violence. Lack of knowledge and the "it will never happen to me" mentality.
Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this activity learners should be able to:
- Assist physicians to build trust with their patients in the face of misinformation.
- Culture of safety - Create safe, welcoming environments.
- Community connection - Build relationships in and across communities as family physicians, leaders and teachers.
- Raise situational awareness to active shooter events and domestic terror threats.
- Increase awareness of pre-attack behaviors and indicators in an effort to mitigate acts of terrorism and targeted violence.
- Increase survivability rates and reduce casualty counts during active shooter events.
